Two Prestigious Service Medals for Hyderabad Police Officers.
CP C.V. Sajjanar Felicitates Service Medal Recipients.
Hyderabad : Hyderabad City Police Commissioner C.V. Sajjanar, IPS, felicitated two police officers who were selected for prestigious service medals announced by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs on the occasion of Independence Day.
At a felicitation programme held at the CP’s office on Friday, Commissioner Sajjanar personally congratulated Additional DCP, Secunderabad Zone, J. Narsaiah, who was selected for the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service, and Cyber Crime ACP R.G. Shiva Maruthi, who was selected for the Medal for Distinguished Service.
Speaking on the occasion, CP Sajjanar appreciated both officers for their dedication, discipline and exemplary service to the police department. He lauded Additional DCP J. Narsaiah for his significant contribution to maintaining law and order and handling several important investigations. He also praised ACP R.G. Shiva Maruthi for his expertise in combating cybercrime and conducting complex technical investigations.
The Commissioner said that receiving prestigious national-level service medals was a matter of pride for the Hyderabad City Police Commissionerate. He stated that the achievements of the two officers would inspire other police officers and personnel to perform their duties with greater dedication. He also wished them continued success and greater honours in the future.
35 Years of Distinguished Service by J. Narsaiah
Additional DCP J. Narsaiah joined the police department as a Sub-Inspector in 1991 and has rendered around 35 years of service. During his career, he played a key role in the investigation of several important cases and in maintaining law and order. In recognition of his services, he has previously received several awards, including the Indian Police Medal (IPM).
R.G. Shiva Maruthi’s Contribution to Cybercrime Investigation
Cyber Crime ACP R.G. Shiva Maruthi joined the police department as a Sub-Inspector in 1995 and has completed around 31 years of service. He gained recognition for his role in busting a pan-India cyber fraud network involving approximately ₹127 crore through Operation Octopus.
For his excellence in investigation, he was earlier honoured with the Union Home Minister’s Medal in 2022. His latest selection for the Medal for Distinguished Service is another recognition of his outstanding contribution to policing and cybercrime investigation.
Senior police officials who participated in the programme congratulated the medal recipients. The attendees included Additional CP M. Srinivas, IPS; Joint CP (SB); Joint CP (Law & Order–North Range) S.M. Vijay Kumar, IPS; and DCPs Kiran Khare, IPS (Charminar Zone), S. Srinivas, IPS (Rajendranagar Zone), M. Chaitanya Kumar, IPS (DD), Lavanya Naik Jadhav (Women Safety Wing), D. Rajesh (Shamshabad Zone), J. Raghavender Reddy (Golconda Zone), and A. Ramana Reddy (Jubilee Hills), along with other senior police officials.
